Please Save the Spirit Bear and the Green Inlets
The spirit bear or white Kermode bear is a rare and beautiful bear that lives only in the rainforests off the coast
of northern B.C. The Kermode bear is a rare white sub-species of the black bear who carry a unique, double recessive gene.
There are only 400 of them left in the world, the highest concentration occurring around Princess Royal and Gribbell Islands.
Their only known habitat (one of the last pristine areas in the world) is now in danger. Logging companies are planning
to cut down and possibly clear-cut their habitat if we don't do anything about it. If these areas are cut down we may
lose the Spirit Bear forever. You can help save the Spirit Bear and make a difference.
